Oh yes. I was there once, and my wallet almost turned fully inside-out. The thing is, I've spent over seven years acquiring supplies, models, track, and rolling stock. What I never did was actually get started. So I feel obliged to use what I have as much as possible and get as far as I can before I start buying more.
As it is, I'll never use everything I've bought. For one, I have way more buildings than will ever fit on a 3x6 layout. And not every one is a true match. I bought several things in lots on eBay. Finding out what I should really just get rid of will be a nice side-effect of finally assembling things. I hope.
