Amazon has made me sad

Remember when "Usually ships within 24 hours" used to actually mean "will really very likely ship within 24 hours"? My past three or four amazon orders have all been composed of items with that tag, and none of them has shipped (shipped, not arrived!) in fewer than three business days. Since shipment started taking more time a few years back, this means that no amazon order ever arrives with that almost unnatural speed of yore.

I miss that.

Since my recent orders have all been academically motivated, this makes me double sad.

Hey there,

Is there any way you can add me to your school's jobs listserv? (do you guys have one...or something similar?). As you may imagine UNC's posting of jobs in the Northeast is pretty limited. If you prefer you can email me at jostleninetynineatyahoodotcom. (the "ninetynine" in number format) I hope this is possible, let me know. I would really appreciate it.

-(I know you from DL)

ps. I totally hear you on the amazon thing. I usually order the books then run to the lib and check them out so that I'm not freaking out when they take three weeks to arrive. But yeah, it has happened to me more than one semester. You'd think by now I would've learned to just spend the extra bucks at the bookstore. I guess time isn't nearly as valuable as $$ for us grad students ;)

It sucks that the planners don't get more support from your department. Yeah, I check the APA listings too. I usually go directly to Mass APA's website instead of the national one though, so I should probably consider glancing at it at least occassionally. Thanks for the tip. :)

Have you started searching yet? Are you planning to stay in the area?
